What You Need to Know About Our Jetter Machine

Clogged drains are a pain, which is why Crawford Mechanical Services uses their expertise and the best equipment to quickly clear those drains out. Our sewer jetter machine is the best and most powerful tool for cleaning out your drains and doesn’t use chemicals that can harm your pipes or the environment.

Give Crawford Mechanical Services a call next time your drain clogs and we’ll put our jetter machine to work for you! Read on to learn more about one of our favorite, powerful, plumbing tools.

What is a Jetter Machine?

A jetter machine is a lot like a pressure washer except that it blasts nearly four times the water that a typical pressure washer uses. We wouldn’t be able to get that amount of water from your tap, so our jetter machine comes with several hundred gallons of water stored in tanks and ready to blast the clogs out of your drain.

How Powerful is It?

The diesel engine on our jetter machine packs a few dozen horsepower. A few dozen horsepower wouldn’t be much for a car, but it will do the trick for blasting clogs out of a drain. A sewer jetter machine blasts enough water at a high enough pressure to drill a hole in a 2-by-4.

After a jetter has done its job, your drains will be nearly as clean as when they were first installed.

What Are the Benefits of Using a Sewer Jetter?

Sewer jetters are the most effective and efficient way to get rid of clogs. A sewer snake can break up a clog well enough, but it won’t remove the debris that caused the clog in the first place. That debris can very easily move down the line and clog up the drain again later.

A jetter machine will blast away all the debris so that your drain will be clog free for the long run. Another advantage the sewer jetter has over a snake is that it has a larger range. No matter where the clog is, a jetter can reach it and blast it out.

Chemical-based drain cleaners are toxic and really aren’t good for the environment. Generally, you have to use a lot of cleaner over a long period of time in order to get the clogs out, and you’ll still be left with debris in the drain. After a jetter has done its job, your drains will be nearly as clean as when they were first installed.
