Open Position - Project Manager

Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for supervising and managing specific projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role involves organizing and maintaining project documentation, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The Project Manager also oversees project closeout activities and ensures all work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review timecards to ensure correct phasing.
  • Organize and maintain project records, including plans, specifications, notes, safety-related correspondence, submittals, progress schedules, and change orders.
  • Manage project-specific documentation, such as proposals, notices, contracts, additional work authorizations, change orders, and requests for information.
  • Coordinate permit responsibilities with various authorities, including applications, filings, and inspections.
  • Communicate with customers, contractors, owners, architects, engineers, and other industry professionals as necessary.
  • Visit job sites and attend job meetings as required.
  • Ensure unused equipment is returned to rental vendors or the shop and that material on job sites is returned, credited, or transferred appropriately.
  • Attend "Hand Off Meetings" with estimating, field superintendent, purchasing, and estimating teams.
  • Issue purchase orders to subcontractors, including fire protection, sheet metal, insulators, and excavators.
  • Approve invoices and monitor job cost detail reports.
  • Review disciplinary issues with field employees in violation of company policies with Billy Crawford.
  • Update and review the "Manpower Scheduler" and production scheduler weekly.
  • Schedule excavators with the warehouse manager when possible.
  • Prepare change order request proposals timely and reconcile before monthly billing.
  • Provide descriptions and budgets to PA and accounting when issuing purchase orders.
  • Review submittals with the PA-production assistant.
  • Assist with WIP meetings involving accounting, controller, Billy Crawford, and Bill Crawford.
  • Supervise project closeout documents, including as-built, O&M manuals, and warranty letters.
  • Reconcile all change orders and retainage billing with PA and controller.
  • Attend project closeout meetings with estimating, foreman, and Billy Crawford.
  • Generate general correspondence and job reports as requested.
  • Acclimate to the company job cost software program and utilize it as requested.
  • Answer the telephone when necessary.
  • Attend weekly in-house OPS meetings.
  • Generate forms and procedures to efficiently perform all job responsibilities.
  • Attend project meetings and/or bid openings as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all personnel issues, customer relations, financial information, and business practices and strategies.
  • Possess above-average mathematical and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Computer Ease.
  • Maintain appropriate, professional, and positive relationships with customers and employees.
  • Maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance (business casual).
  • Abide by the company drug, safety, and harassment policies.
  • Well-organized and logical thinker, able to focus on tasks and deadlines attentively.
